S3 McMillan helped Trend Micro cut through a crowded cybersecurity market by turning threat intelligence into art. The global campaign became the foundation for the company’s digital, sales, and event marketing, with activations at RSA and GITEX Technology Week. It generated 80 million impressions, international design recognition, and was cited as a key contributor to Trend Micro’s CMO being named one of the Top 50 Marketers in the World by the OnCon Icon Awards.
A behemoth in enterprise cybersecurity, Trend Micro protects more than 500,000 organizations globally through its suite of modern SaaS solutions. To strengthen its stronghold on the market, the company needed to increase brand awareness and communicate a competitively distinct message.
Today’s security teams are overwhelmed by cyber threats, hindering them from making strategic headway within their organizations. To show how Trend Micro frees them to go further, we knew we couldn’t just focus on the dark side of security like everyone else. Where others saw hackers and bad actors, we saw something beautiful.
We brought this vision to life with The Art of Cybersecurity: a global campaign and pop-up vernissage at RSA in San Francisco that turned Trend Micro’s security data into striking works of art. In collaboration with world-renowned data artists, each custom, commissioned piece visualized a complex dataset for a specific audience. Together, they showed how cybersecurity can be beautiful when you’re not just protected, but empowered.
With a clear vision, we turned the malicious into something marvelous. (And successful.)
